What is Strut Scar Formula?

Strut Scar Formula is a compounded medication which combines prescription and non-prescription medications in a pharmaceutical grade scar-targeting gel. Strut Scar Formula may help reduce the pigment, size, and improve the texture of scars, making them less noticeable when used regularly and as prescribed.

What is a compounded medication?

A compounded medication is a prescription that is mixed up specifically for you based on your doctor’s request for a specific strength and dosage form. Compounded medications are not manufactured, but made in compounding pharmacies that follow a formula ‘recipe’ customized to your condition to create an individualized medication for you.

How does Strut Scar Formula work?

Strut Scar Formula is a physician and pharmacist crafted combination of medications which target various aspects of scars blended into a silicone based scar gel. Triamcinolone is a topical steroid which may help reduce, flatten, and soften scars. Levocetirizine may help reduce growth of scar tissue during the healing process and reduce itchiness that may come along with healing scars. Vitamin C, or ascorbic acid, is added as a potent topical antioxidant which is a natural skin brightener that may lighten the pigment of a scar and help it blend in.

How should I use Strut Scar Formula?

Apply a light coating of gel to clean, dry skin scar location, once daily at bedtime, or twice daily, as directed by your doctor. Wash hands after application. Follow your doctor's specific orders if you are unsure how to use the medication.

What are the common side effects of Strut Scar Formula?

The most common side effects of Strut Scar Formula include skin redness, irritation, burning, itching, peeling, and skin thinning. These effects are generally mild and will clear up over time or upon discontinuation of the medication.

Use the medicine exactly as directed. Using more medicine or applying it more often than prescribed will not make it work any faster, and may increase side effects.

Do not take by mouth. Topical medicine is for use only on the skin. Avoid getting this medication in your eyes or mouth. Do not use on sunburned skin, open wounds, or skin affected by eczema.

Wash your hands before and after applying formula. Before applying, clean and dry the skin area to be treated.
