So, for me personally, if we’re going to use an anti-androgen on the scalp topically, I would choose Finasteride or Dutasteride.
But, some folks have had good response with Spironolactone.
The only issue with Spironolactone that I’ve found in my practice is that when you combine that with Minoxidil, sometimes it gives off a strange odor.
But, one of the things about Strut is they’ve really worked to decrease that strange odor, and kind of mask it actually, to make it a more usable and scalp-friendly type of treatment.
So, I encourage you to try the Minoxidil plus the Spironolactone if you are having difficulty with the Finasteride or Dutasteride product.
Spironolactone is a potential off-label treatment for female pattern hair loss which can help reduce extra androgens in the scalp which can damage hair follicles.
Our Strut Women’s Hair Loss formula can be formulated to contain Spironolactone, along with other active ingredients to form a well-rounded approach to women’s hair loss care.
